Italian Creme Cake Recipe Amish Cooking Recipes

Cream oleo, Crisco, sugar, and egg yolks. Add rest of ingredients, folding egg whites in last. Bake at 350° in 2-9" pans. Cream together icing ingredients and spread on cooled cakes.

5 egg whites, beaten
1 stick oleo
1/2 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
5 egg yolks
2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup coconut
Icing:
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup oleo
2¼ cups powdered sugar
