Bring to boil the cocoa, water, and shortening. Mix with flour and sugar. Add eggs. Mix sour milk and soda, then add to the batter. Add vanilla. Bake on cookie sheet at 350° for 20 minutes or until done. Spread frosting on cake while cake is hot.
