Coconut Oatmeal Cookies

Cream first 3 ingredients. Then add remaining ingredients. Shape into rolls 1" thick and chill. Cut in 1/4" slices and bake at 350° F.

2 cups shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
5 cups oatmeal
2 cups coconut
3½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup nuts
1 package chocolate chips
