Easy Time Holiday Squares

Cream sugar and shortening together. Add flour and lemon extract. Beat well. Pour batter into greased jelly roll pan. Mark off 24 squares. Place 1 heaping Tbsp. of pie filling in center of each square. Bake at 350° F. for about 40 minutes. While warm, sift powdered sugar over top.

1½ c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
pie filling of choice
2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. lemon extract or juice
