Fresh Orange Cookies
Sift
together flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Cream 1/2 c.
butter and sugars. Add egg. Chop the orange in a blender or food
processor or by hand to equal 3/4 c. chopped fruit. Add; beat well.
Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in walnuts. Cover; chill for 1
hour or longer. Drop dough by teaspoonful onto lightly greased cookie
sheets. Bake at 375° F. for 10-12 minutes. Remove and cool on wire
racks. Combine powdered sugar, fresh orange juice, butter, and orange
peel. Spread glaze over cooled cookies.
Yields about 4 dozen.
