Fruitcake Bars Recipe Amish Dessert Recipes

Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and cool. Blend in rest of ingredients. Spread in greased 13x9x2" pan. Bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes. Cool and cut into bars

1 cup brown sugar
1¼ cups water
1/3 cup shortening
2 cups raisins
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
