Ginger Creams

  Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs, molasses and water. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375° F. 10-12 minutes. Frost when cool.

Icing:
   Melt butter, add hot water and vanilla. Thicken with confectioners sugar. Beat until a creamy consistency.

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs well beaten
1 c. cold water
1 c. baking molasses
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Icing:
6 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
confectioners sugar
