Lazy Sugar Cookies

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add vanilla, egg, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Mix well. Add flour and mix well. Roll dough in balls, flatten with glass dipped in sugar. Bake in 350° F oven for 10-12 minutes.

1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1½ tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. soda
2¼ c. flour
