Recipe Mocha Walnut Cookies Amish Recipes

Melt 1/2 c. chocolate chips over hot water; stir until smooth. Cool to room temperature. In a small cup dissolve coffee in boiling water; set aside. In a small bowl combine flour, soda and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, sugars and coffee. Beat until creamy. Add egg and melted chips; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture; stir in remaining 1½ c. chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° F. for12 minutes. Allow to stand 2-3 minutes before removing from sheet.
Yield: approx. 2 dozen 3" cookies.

2 c. chocolate chips
2 t. instant coffee
2 t. boiling water
1¼ c. flour
3/4 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
