Slice of Spice Cookies (Overnight)
Mix first four
ingredients and set aside. Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Blend in
eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Add oatmeal and mix well. Shape
dough into rolls on waxed paper and chill overnight. When ready to bake,
slice and dip each cookie in mixture of 3/4 cup sugar and 6 tsp.
cinnamon. Bake at 350°. Also good dipped in powdered sugar and cinnamon. |
6 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
4 cups brown sugar, packed
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups oatmeal |
