Soft Maple Cookies

Mix shortening and sugar. Add egg and milk. Add remaining ingredients. eat thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° F. for 10 minutes.

Icing:
Mix together and spread on top.

1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. margarine
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
3 c. flour
1½ tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. maple flavoring

Icing:
1 c. powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. milk
