Dissolve soda in milk. Mix all ingredients together. Chill dough. Shape into balls; flatten with a glass dipped in white sugar. Bake. For filling, mix beaten eg whites with 4 c. powdered sugar. Add Crisco, then remaining powdered sugar

3 c. shortening
4 eggs
8 t. soda
1 c. milk
1 c. molasses
2 t. baking powder
4 t. cinnamon
1 t. salt
12 c. flour
Filling:
4 egg whites, beaten
8 c. powdered sugar, divided
2 c. Crisco
