Amish Recipes Cream Pie

Melt butter in pan. Add milk and sugar. Mix the rest of the ingredients with a little milk and add to the milk and bring to boiling. This makes 1 pie. Use this as your basic vanilla pudding for all your cream pies, such as banana, peanut butter, and coconut. For banana cream pie, line baked shell with sliced bananas. Fill with pudding.

2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons white sugar
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
