Date Pudding

   Preheat oven to 350° F. Combine pudding ingredients and pour into greased 13x9x2" pan.

Sauce:
   Bring water to boil and stir in firmly packed brown sugar and butter. Stir until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Pour over batter in pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until center of pudding is just set.

Pudding:
1 c. unsifted flour
1 c. sugar
 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg slightly beaten

Sauce:
2 c. water
2 c light brown sugar(packed)
2 Tbsp. butter
