Thelma's Ham Roll Surprise
Preheat
oven to 350° F. In a medium bowl, combine the beef, Russian dressing,
bread crumbs, onions, salt, and pepper. Use 2 slices of ham for each
roll, placing one above the other. Place 1/4 of the beef mixture along
the side lengthwise on each of the 4 ham slices. Roll the ham around the
meat. Secure each slice with 4 whole cloves. Arrange in a baking dish
with the seam side down.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour, then the
sugar, Russian dressing, orange juice and mustard. Bring to a boil. Pour
the sauce over the meat rolls. Bake in a preheated 350° F. oven for 1
hour, basting occasionally. Place the sliced pineapple on top for last
15 minutes of baking.

1/4 c. chopped onions

dash pepper
8 thin slices boiled or baked ham
16 whole cloves
Sauce:
2 T. butter
1 T. flour
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. Russian dressing
1/4 c. orange juice
2 t. prepared mustard
sliced pineapple for garnish |
