Washday Dinner

Use a large flat pan. Cover bottom with butter. Line the bottom of the pan with thick layer of onion slices; then add generous layer of sliced potatoes. Sift 2 Tbsp. flour over this. Pour can of tomato juice over whole. Slice sausages thinly to cover the top. Add enough boiling water to cover. Add salt to taste. Bake slowly for 3 hours. If sausages begin to get too brown, turn them over.

1 Tbsp. butter
3 onions, sliced
6 potatoes, sliced
8 sausage links
2 Tbsp. flour
1 large can tomato juice
2 Tbsp. flour
boiling water
salt to taste
