Winter Sausage Bake
Brown the
sausage till golden brown. Place half of it in the bottom of a large
2½-quart oblong baking dish. Add half of the sliced potatoes and
sprinkle with half of the flour and salt. Add half the chopped cabbage.
Repeat, using the ingredients in the same order. Sprinkle pepper on top.
Pour the milk over the dish and bake in a preheated oven at 375° for 1
hour. If using a deep baking dish, increase the baking time by
approximately 15 minutes.
Note: Potatoes may be used peeled or not. Adjust the amount of salt if
the sausage is bland.

6 med. white potatoes, sliced thin
1/2 med. head cabbage, coarsely chopped
3 T. flour
1½ c. milk
1 t. salt
freshly ground pepper
