Recipe Pop-Up Pizza Pie Amish Cooking Recipes

Brown hamburger. Stir in onion, green pepper, garlic, oregano, water, Tabasco sauce, tomato sauce, and sauce mix. Simmer for 10 minutes; set aside. Combine milk, oil, eggs, and flour. Add salt. Pour hot meat mixture into ungreased 9x13 pan. Pour batter over cheese, covering filling completely. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 400° F. for 25-30 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.

Yields 10 servings.

1½ lbs. lean ground beef
1 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped green peppers
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 t. oregano
1/2 c. water
1/8 t. Tabasco sauce
1 (15 ox.) can tomato sauce
1 env. spaghetti sauce mix
Popover Batter:
1 c. milk
1 T. vegetable oil
1 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 t. salt
