Cabbage Salad
Grate
cabbage into a large mixing bowl. Clean peppers, dice, and add to the
cabbage. Peel and grate the carrots, clean and slice the radishes, chop
the celery, and add all to the cabbage. Toss lightly, Make syrup of
sugar, vinegar, wine, salt, celery seed, and mustard seed, stirring
together until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this syrup over the salad
and toss. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours or
overnight. Serve with sandwiches or cold meats.

2 med. sweet bell peppers (1 red and 1 green if available)
2 carrots
8 radishes
4 stems celery
2 cups sugar
1/2 c. herb or cider vinegar
1/4 c. white wine
2 t. salt
1 t. celery seed
1 t. mustard seed
