Recipe Old-Fashioned Bean Soup Amish Recipes

Brown butter in a 3-quart saucepan. Add beans; cook for several minutes. Add milk; bring to a boil. Add salt and enough bread to use up most of the milk. Cover and let set for 15 minutes. Stir only slightly with a dipper to bring up beans from the bottom of pan. good with Swiss cheese and pepper.

2 T. butter
1 c. cooked navy beans
4 c. milk
1 t. salt
bread cubes
