Scalloped Potatoes with Sharp Cheese
| Peel the
potatoes and slice about 1/8" thick. Mix with flour, salt, and
pepper. Place half of the potatoes in bottom of a buttered 2-quart
baking dish. Dot with 1/2 the butter, and sprinkle with 1/2 the grated
cheese. Add the rest of the potatoes and repeat with the remaining
butter and cheese. Pour milk over the potatoes and bake in a preheated
350° F. oven for 1 hour.
1½ lbs. white potatoes
4 T. flour
1½ t. salt
several dashes freshly ground pepper
3 T. butter
1/2 c. grated sharp or Cheddar cheese
1¼ c. milk
