Many of our Amish Dolls are handmade in the tradition of the Amish, who do not believe in the use of mirrors, and that is the reason why many of our dolls do not have faces. The clothing and colors are typical traditional Amish.

Heirloom Quality Dolls

These Amish dolls are handcrafted by Priscilla Stoltzfus, an Amish woman who lives in the area of south central Pennsylvania known as "Pennsylvania Dutch Country". Priscilla lives on a 67-acre dairy farm with her husband and six children. Each morning, Priscilla arises at 4:30 a.m. to help her husband milk their herd of forty cows. When time permits, she and her mother make dolls at Priscilla's home.

Priscilla embraces the Amish way of life, a simple life that bans the use of electricity, cars and indoor plumbing. Many of her dolls have no faces in keeping with the traditional Amish belief regarding a "graven image" belonging only to God. The Amish shun the use of mirrors and the taking of photographs for the same reason. Priscilla Stoltzfus's dolls are a true symbol of Amish life in Pennsylvania Dutch Country

These Dolls are without faces.

Each doll is 12" high. The garments are removable. The female comes with a black apron, black bonnet, and a colored dress. The male comes with a black felt hat, black suspender pants, and a White shirt. Offered at $19.95 each.

Each Amish doll comes with a name tag that has an original story about what's going on the the doll's life
and some other interesting facts. Plain Folks Amish dolls are faceless because the Amish do not believe
in the use of mirrors or photographs. Collect them all!

Our Amish doll family consists of Benjamin and Rebecca, husband and wife,
and two of their children, Joshua and Anna.

Sarah’s hobby is quilting and she holds one of her beautiful quilts which is 16"
square and removable. The color stripes of her quilt are green, purple, Amish
blue, rose, burgundy, and black. Sarah wears a burgundy dress, black bonnet
and black apron.

     Daniel, or Sarah’s Daniel, as he is called, is an Amish preacher simply
chosen by lot to perform these duties. Daniel wears a burgundy shirt with a black    vest, black pants with suspenders, and black felt hat.

Rachel knows that the life ahead of her will not be easy, but she is secure in the prospect of
taking her place as Amish mother and wife. Rachel wears a purple dress (shown in blue) with a black apron and a black bonnet. Sorry, this doll is no longer available.

Samuel thinks that the security of the Amish lifestyle makes giving up the worldly things of the "English" worthwhile. He hopes to have many sons and daughters with Rachel. Samuel wears a purple shirt (shown in blue) with black pants and suspenders with a black felt hat.
