Shoofly Pie is a traditional PA Dutch desert. German settlers brought non-perishable goods on ships that would survive the long voyage to America. These ingredients included brown sugar, flour, molasses, shortening and spices -- ingredients which were turned into the now famous pie.  Delicious served warm and topped with whipped cream or a side of ice cream!  Tastes great with your morning cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa!
