Alma Bobb's Tomato Pudding
| Put the
bread cubes in a 9" x 13" baking dish. Pour melted butter on
top. Toss gently. Mix the tomato puree, water, and sugar together in a
1-quart saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes. Pour over the
buttered bread cubes and mix thoroughly. Set the baking dish in pan of
hot water. Bake in a preheated 375° F oven. for 45-50 minutes.
This may be prepared the day before serving and refrigerated
c. fresh bread cubes
1 c. melted butter
2 c. canned tomato puree
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. light brown sugar
