Baked Sauerkraut

  Put the sauerkraut in a greased 1 quart casserole, add the prunes, currants, sugar, and nutmeg, and mix well. Bake in a preheated 350 F. oven for 45 to 55 minutes until golden brown. Stir frequently to make sure that the sauerkraut browns evenly. 4 c. loosely packed fresh or canned sauerkraut
1 c. prunes, pitted
1/2 c. currants or white raisins
1/4 c. light brown sugar
1/4 t. freshly grated nutmeg
